- “Think of it like stagnant water... a breeding pool for disease. When Final Space was sealed away from the flow of the universe, space-time itself stagnated, poisoning all organic matter.”
- ―H.U.E.
Final Space Poisoning is an extremely dangerous disease that occurs when a humanoid being is exposed to Final Space for prolonged periods of time.
Description[]
The Final Space Poisoning is contracted by prolonged exposure to the malevolent energy of Final Space. The poison usually takes several months to begin affecting the victim, but the symptoms and poison can be accelerated if the host is experiencing extreme stress. The disease likely only affects humanoid life, as seen in those who have been affected by it. It develops and spreads throughout the host's body through their veins, which will begin to take on a glowing yellow color that starts at the wrist and slowly spreads all throughout the hosts' body, presumably resulting in the death of the host shortly after.
One major symptom of the disease is constant pain and hallucinations, as shown when Quinn Ergon could barely stand as the disease worsened, and when she hallucinated visions of her past and sister, Avery Ergon.
The only known substance that can cease the effects of Final Space poisoning is Celenium, one of the rarest substances in the universe that is capable of absorbing the poisoning. However, the process of implanting celenium within the host to cease the poisoning was known to be extremely grueling and painful since it involves drilling the celenium directly into the host's skull while the host is still conscious and without the use of any forms of painkiller or anesthesia because any chemical interference will jeopardize the host's life during the procedure. The procedure is painful enough that it could potentially result in the death of the host regardless due to extreme shock. The only way to lessen the pain of the host is if another person willingly shares the pain with the host through the linkage of pain receptors between them. However, this is also equivalently dangerous since it can also cause the person who shares the pain to die from shock as well. Final Space Poisoning could also be dispersed by simply leaving Final Space itself.
