Season 1 is the first season of Final Space. It aired from February 26, 2018 to May 7, 2018 on TBS.
Season Summary[]
Gary Goodspeed, a man serving a five year prison sentence on a spaceship named the Galaxy One, one day, he finds an alien creature he names Mooncake. The creature, while cute, is a powerful planet destroyer, with the potential to open a gateway to a different universe called Final Space. Soon, Gary finds himself caught in a conflict with the tyrannical Lord Commander, who wishes to enter Final Space and is dead set on capturing Mooncake.
Gary makes a new friend, the Ventrexian bounty hunter Avocato, whose son, Little Cato, has been taken prisoner by the Lord Commander. They are joined by Gary's love interest Quinn Ergon, a captain in the Infinity Guard who discovered a breach to Final Space, that is threatening to consume the Earth. The Infinity Guard has been corrupted however, and joined forces with the Lord Commander.
Gary and Avocato are eventually able to save Little Cato, but Avocato is killed in the rescue. Soon after, a future version of Quinn named Nightfall introduces the group to the titan Bolo, who has been imprisoned in a dimension named Inner Space after he sealed the other titans in Final Space to protect the universe from their chaos.
The conflict comes to a climax when Gary and Quinn return to Earth to gather an Anti-matter bomb with which they can close the breach. The Lord Commander however captures Mooncake and uses him to open the breach further. A Titan reaches through and pulls the entire Earth into Final Space before Quinn sacrifices herself to detonate the bomb and close the breach.
