Season 3 is the third and final season of Final Space.
Season 3 was first officially announced in September 2019[2] , and, similar to Season 2, consists of 13 episodes.
Season 3 premiered on March 20, 2021 on Adult Swim and on April 19, 2021 on TBS. It was released internationally on Netflix on September 16, 2021 and on HBO Max on November 13, 2021 in the United States.
The story will conclude through the graphic novel, Final Space: The Final Chapter, coming in 2024.
Season Summary[]
A month after rescuing Quinn Ergon from her prison, Gary Goodspeed, the Team Squad, and Bolo find themselves trapped within the horrific dimension of Final Space, with everything being only a question of survival. Pursued relentlessly by Invictus, the newly resurrected Lord Commander, and the Titans, all determined to capture Mooncake to become even more powerful, the Team Squad's only hope is to ally themselves with Earth's last survivor before it's too late.

Production[]
Season 3 was greenlit one week before the finale of Season 2.[3] It was officially announced by Olan Rogers on September 30, 2019.
On November 5, 2019, Olan Rogers posted a tweet with the caption "Making a mood board for SOM3THING", followed by a collage of surreal, cosmic horror sci-fi art, likely an indication of the tone Season 3 would have. [4]
On November 30, 2019, Olan Rogers announced via social media that writing for the season had begun. [5] Said writing has finally concluded on June 24, 2020. [6]
On December 5, 2019, Olan Rogers unveiled the transcript of the first episode for Season 3, revealing its name to be "...And Into The Fire". [7] He later unveiled the transcripts for "The Hidden Light" [8] and "The Ventrexian" [9].
On October 23, 2020, it was announced that the season had entered "post-production", and animation on the episodes would begin. [10] [11]
On January 13, 2021, Olan Rogers announced that a release date for the season was officially selected [12] and would be announced in the "middle of [February]". [13]
On February 7, 2021, it was announced by Olan Rogers that the official trailer, as well as the season's fourth and fifth episodes were officially finalized. [14]
On February 16, 2021, the season's premiere date and the show's launch date for HBO Max, were revealed, starting with the release of the season's official trailer. [15]
On May 24, 2021, Olan Rogers announced that mixing for the final episode was completed, and Season 3's production had officially concluded. [16]
On September 10, 2021, Olan Rogers announced in his YouTube channel that Season 3 would be the last season of the show, but he would love to continue the show if another network picked it up. [17]
On April 24, 2023, Olan Rogers announced that the story after Season 3 will be continued in a graphic novel that will come out sometime in 2024

- With the upcoming release of Final Space: The Final Chapter, Season 3 will be the only season of the series which continuity is through a different medium.
- The show was planned to have five or six seasons, but due to the WarnerMedia/Discovery merger, the show was cancelled after this season. The announcement of the cancellation got the show trending on Twitter with over 14.000 tweets[18] and more than 11.000 signs in Charge.org demading it's renewal. [19]
- It's the only season of the series to not get a DVD or Blu-ray release. It was available in digital platforms and the streaming services Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max until June 2022.
- This is the first season of the series to not include Shelby Merry as a composer, due to her pursuing other opportunities. Instead, composers Andrew Goodwin (also composer of Seasons 1 and 2), Casey Edwards [20], and Dodie Clark [21], would replace her. [22]
- Season 1 composer Jake Sidwell would also be returning this season, after being unable to compose for Season 2 due to health issues.
- This is the first season of Final Space that would not be simulcast on TBS.
- Olan Rogers has stated multiple times that Season 3 is his personal favorite season of the series, going as far as to say that he has seven favorite episodes in the third season.
- Prior to the first look teaser release date, this is the season's teaser poster was first released on October 16, 2020.
- The first few images of the season were released in November 6, 2020, and the first look video was originally dropped by Christmas 2020 as well as it is confirmed that will be made available to HBO Max for the first two seasons. [23]
- The last few images of the season were released on November 26, 2020, two days ago after the first images.
- The season's first look teaser was first released exclusively by Olan Rogers, Adult Swim, and Comicbook.com on December 18, 2020 at 12:00 PM. [24]
